If you have an AMF made bike please post your serial number and a picture of the bike. One brand we have yet to figure out is the AMF Road Masters. This seems to have happened around 1962, and it is reasonable to assume that all 'RB’ symbols represent bikes. One may assume that ‘RA’ serial numbers began with 'RA00001’ (or RA1000), and continue until 'RA 99999 N,’ at which point the system was reset to 'RB 00001 N’ (or RB 10000 N). For example, a Brompton uses YYMMXXX as their serial code, so a Brompton with a serial number of was manufactured in 2013.06 or June 2013. Some manufacturers use a date-code as part of the serial number.
Bicycles (except children’s bicycles) are almost always required to have a frame or serial number.
